		<description>it is not that male children are prefered, its that in India, having a daughter is seen as a burden, because they cost money and to marry them off, they must spend huge amounts of money (dowry) to pay for the wedding and her living costs after the wedding. Men are seen as income, as they do most of the work and bring in the money.</description>
